What’s going on?

AAP as a whole

First of all, I want to thank everyone who has been willing to stick through the thick and thin of this year… I don’t think the word challenging even covers it! It has been incredibly difficult to keep focused with so many changes, not to mention being settled then uprooted, not once, but twice in a span of a year! Without you guys, this group would not still exist. I am determined to keep working towards a group where everyone is able to enjoy the time spent together.

Where we’re running for now

It has been agreed that we are staying with Moment’s Cafe for now. They have been very kind to have us during this time and I appreciate every week.

Food will still be encouraged to be purchased, however I also want to encourage the use of games again between those who feel safe to do so.

What about the Oasis Cafe?

I have been in contact with the Oasis Cafe. They are understandably following stricter guidelines that would not be possible for the group to follow at this time. This will reviewed at a later date.

Your input

Your input is extremely important. We’re a small group where every opinion matters on how to keep running.

We currently have two amazing places offering us use of their space. It is very important to me that everyone is happy and therefore YOUR feedback is extremely important in regards of what you want and where you want it.

Running costs

After a discussion with those present, it has been agreed that we will now be going back to a £1 session fee per week.

Although we are not currently directly paying for the room, the collected money will be going directly into the AAP account. This will be left to accumulate and therefore will be able to offer trips out outside the usual weekly session at concession prices.

There may be worries about who will be eligible for concession prices, eg. if someone never comes to weekly sessions and therefore never contributes, will they still get concession price?

We understand not everyone can attend the weekly session and we will always be open to anyone (who is known) to join the trips. However we want this to be as a fair as possible financially.
